    poor service

We live in the neighborhood and were excited to give Via Carducii a try, but the whole experience ended up being bad and we will never give them any business again. We ordered for carryout at 6:05, they said it would be ready at 6:30, which is when we got there, but it was 6:45pm and our food was still not ready. When we brought this up to the manager, he not only did NOT apollogize, but said that that was how long it took. Our point was that they should take that into account when they predict the pick up time. It would have been fine if he would have at least apollogized and said it would be ready shortly. Then, when we got home, we found that instead of veal marsala, we had chicken marsala. We called to bring this to their attention, and again, they did not apollogize!! Instead they said they would bring over the veal and take the chicken back. Why were they taking the chicken back, because they couldn't spare it? They didn't trust us? And then when they found out we had taken a bite of the chicken, they said they could no longer exchange and would give a free dessert instead. At this point we asked for the manager. He was very rude. No apologies, and instead insinuated he was doing us a favor by "giving us a free veal." It wasn't free, we already paid, they simply gave us the wrong meal! While the food was fine, the service was not good and they should reconsider their customer relations.

Decent food, subpar service and staff

I have been here 3 times and the food was alright. The service has gotten progressively worse to the point that last time I was there I waited 10 minutes after being seated to get water and after 15 minutes we left without a waiter coming to our table. I have talked to other people that have had similar experiences.

    Pleasently suprised

While we almost dismissed this restaraunt in a sea or places on Division, I was extremely impressed with Via Carducci. First time going was a quiet Sunday afternoon, ordered wine, and enjoyed a long meal. The pasta with the vaious seafoods and spicy sauce was amazing. I have been back two more times with out of town relatives and friends and they all enjoyed both their food and experiance. I highly recommend this restaraunt, whether it is to entertain friends and family or to enjoy a romantic meal in the rustic and extremely welcoming interior.

    What's the big deal?

Instantly mobbed, this place ojn the Dicvision Ave. strip is okay, I guess. Convenient if you live nearby, but a destination? No way. The place can not handle the crowds. All we heard the whole night was apologies from servers and bussers. I'm glad they're apologizing, but I don't wanna eat someplace where I'm owed apologies. That said, the food is fine.
