INCREDIBLE
The beef fajitas are amazing. It is skirt steak strips, which makes it delicious, but not authentic. **The trick is to order a 1/2 pound at a time because it comes out fast and cools off quickly.** If you are not starving, a 1/2 pound feeds 2 people. Therefore, its only 16.50 for 2 people to eat. Additionally, order a side of cheese & sour cream - it does not come with the order, but DEFINITELY recommended! ENJOY

DelishTex-Mex
My husband and I just moved to Chicago from Texas and we've been trying HARD to find good tex-mex. Unfortunately we started at Su Casa, which is definately not tex-mex. I like my queso with chili in it and I don't like to chip a tooth when I eat my chips;-) At Uncle Julio's, the queso, chips and the fajitas were DELISH!!! I can't wait to go back to try something else! If you like tex-mex, you'll LOVE this place. If authentic Mexican food is more your thing, then stay away.

Texas-style Tex Mex
As other native Texans commented on this review - this is a chain (albeit, small chain) restaurant with a location in the Dallas area - which means the food is pretty darn good by Tex Mex standards. It simply wouldn't survive in the Dallas area if the food wasn't good - there are a million other great Tex Mex places you can go to! That said, don't come here expecting traditional "Chicago Mexican"...enchiladas come in chile con carne, not mole, and the chips are SUPPOSED to be super-thin. I absolutely love the fajitas here, the quality of the meat is superior to any Mexican place in the area (hence the $16 price tag...but totally worth it, and portions are huge). My only complaint is that they bring the food out too quickly - I want time to munch on my chips before my entree arrives! Come here on weeknights or for lunch - weekends are SUPER busy and you will definitely have a wait (which isn't so bad - you can have free chips & salsa in the bar with your drink while you wait).

Great food, great service...
The food and margaritas are spectacular. Make sure to try the steak tacos, and the tamalas!

Great Tex Mex & Margaritas!
Uncle Julio's is always top notch for fun and great food! In addition to traditional fare, there are always gourmet delights and seafood offerings. As native Texans, we're thrilled to have this Dallas-Fort Worth mainstay in Chicago. The atmosphere is always fun, and people have found it. After 5 PM you can count on a wait, but the terrific margaritas and Swirls make it go a lot faster (Swirls are Sangria swirled with margarita). Highly recommended!
