I don't mind a long wait as long as it is worth it. Service was charming and accommodating. The atmosphere is classic Chicago pub. Ribs were ok. The chicken was so dry that no amount of sauce could help at all. I believe that everyone’s flavor standards are different so I will not comment as to the flavor of the BBQ sauce. However I do feel that BBQ sauce should not be so runny that it will not even stick to the food. We got there at 6 waited over 45 min and well this wait was not worth it.

I was expecting a bit more judging from the previous two reviews. I thought the ribs were servicable, though definitely not in my top echelon of BBQ (I'm not even sure these were actually smoked). Service was friendly, but they don't allow you to eat at the bar, which was also disappointing as a single diner. Overall it was nothing objectionable, but I also won't go out of my way to return.

I almost hate to do this, the wait is always so long after about 6:30, but it is oh so worth it. Thank heaven it's not more popular. Hard to believe they haven't opened more (like Potbelly's)--they've been there, like forever. When we lived 2 blocks away, I'd go over, put our name in and go home to have a drink. Now we live in the 'burbs and STILL go to TA a few times a year. These are tender, meaty, fall off the bone ribs. Zesty sauce is a must--not spicy, ZESTY. Great onion rings. Go before Second City or Zanies; just allow enough time. Walk over to the Fudge Pot on Wells for dessert.

Simple, go there and wait as long as you need to. Get the zesty full slab with rings. Trust me.
