Good in, cartering lacks bread....
We've been going here for years. Love the place, food and staff. It's like eating in your gram's kitchen. One big draw back on the catering: I ordered food for 30 people and they only sent 1 small skinney loaf of bread. I thought that was really chintzy. It would be better saying bread doesn't come with the orders so I would be better prepared to serve my guest.

Great Italian in modest atmosphere
The food here is great. It's authentic Italian and delicious. It's not super fancy but it is great Italian and not overpriced.

I would not dine here again!
We took our company from St. Louis here to eat. We wanted something family friendly and reasonably priced. The food here is mediocre at best. Ditto on the service. The worst part, however is what happened after we were given the check. The bus person rudely started removing all of our drinks. I politely requested another ice tea, because I wasn't finished. As a restaurant owner, I am respectful of taking up a table when people are waiting. However, there were three open tables around us, so we visited with our out of state company for 15 mins after receiving check. Again, the bus man came and removed every single drink from our hands. We said, "okay, we got the hint!". A woman said, "oh thanks for coming but the group next to you grew and we need your table.". Had she of just asked and explained the situation, we would have gladly complied. However, they handled it very unprofessionally!

Too Fast - Felt Rushed
If you are in the need for a meal served too quickly this place is for you. At one point the waitress took my wine glass and it wasn't even empty yet. My party of 5 was seated in a very high traffic area, felt we were in the way. In no way was this a relaxing evening meal. The quality of the food was okay, overpriced for what we received.

I love Tufno's
My family and I have been going to Tufano's for as long as I can remember. I have never had a bad meal. The service is great too. It is a little pricey but definatly worth it.

Simply one of the best
There is a reason this place has been around (in the same place) forever. And in a place with the best Italian food (among the best competition) in Chicago. I've been going for 35 years it's simply one of the best Italian restaurants anywhere, period. Outstanding!!!

why?
I've had better Italian out of a can. The atomsphere is non-existent.
