Old Town's best restaurant
for 12 years this Old town eatery has been a mainstay of my husband and myself. No matter the weather, time of year, day of week, this restaurant is consistently great! The wait staff, bartenders, and service staff are always friendly and professional.

Yum!
Topo Gigio is great...food is delicious, service is good, atmosphere is charming. Try the panzanella salad! If you're deciding between Topo Gigio and Trattoria Roma across the street...no contest. It's Topo Gigio hands-down!

Great all around
Just recently visited for the first time- the waiter was very knowledgable, patient, and willing to specialize orders and the food was fresh and delicious (and tasted like it would cost a lot; alas, it did not)! Great atmosphere for those looking for a casual date or just a good time with some buddies.

Classic Italian and Chic Chicago
Every time I'm in Chicago I go to Topo Gigio! The food is incredible! The portion size is HUGE compared to the low price point. There are weekly wine specials that you can't afford to pass up. My favorite pasta is the Farfalle al due Salmone which is just a sensational combinations of flavor. I disagree with the dollar value assigned to this restaurant. The quality of the food surpasses it's dollar amount! An average pasta dish is around $15. I would suggest ordering a martini with some friends during the warmer months and enjoy Topo's outdoor piazza. The serving staff is exceptional, curteous, friendly and most of all knowledgable. Topo is a great place for couples, small groups, partygoers and families. Second City is right next door if you want to grab a great bite to eat and see a show. Topo is the best Italian cuisine in Chicago with a low price point and large portions that motivate new diners to become Topo regulars.
