Best Burger in Chicago
I ve been going to Top Notch for 20 yrs. and absolutely love this place. Tasty and fresh burgers.,They grind their own meat daily. Friendly service, old fashioned laid back atmosphere. All of this adds up to the best burgers in the city - I reccomend the beef burger / patty melt/ fries/ and milkshakes!!

One of the Best
One of the very best cheeseburgers in the country. In the same league as the west coast's Fatburgers. Shakes to die for, and fantastic fries (albeit a bit salty for some tastes) Eaten there many times and it's always been terrific (and they know what "medium rare" means!) Wish they took credit cards... Fast, friendly, unpretentious service, haven't redecorated since before I was born. Really good quality meat, and excellent seasoning. And a CLEAN grill, which makes a big difference when you ordered grilled onions. I'm not a chili fan, but dining companions have enjoyed it. I'm allergic to pickles, and they've never gotten my order wrong. I like the other Top Notch further west, too. Love, love, LOVE the place, would eat there every day if I lived nearer (and I would weigh 300 lbs.....)

Good food but bad service
First time ordering - got a cheeseburger and told them no mayo. They said they don't come with mayo. The burger came packed with mayo. Employees don't know what they're talking about.
