The Best thing About Toast is the Sign
With a name like "Toast" and a twirling sign of a perfectly toasted slice of bread, I thought I'd found the perfect after-a-crazy-night brunch spot. I was wrong. I had the blueberry buckwheat pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs and my girl had the "Crabby Benedict" (traditional EB plus crab meat). The blueberries in my pancake were sour and past due while the cake itself was dry and bland. My scrambled eggs were rubbery and overcooked. As for my girl's "Crabby Benedict", the crab meat tasted old. The potatoes, however, were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Overall, "Toast" is mediocre at best and more accurately, a bit sub par.

I heart the manager
I really do not understand why people seem to have issues with the manager - every time I go there (which is rather frequently as I LOVE this restaurant), she is always friendly, polite, and chatting with customers. Once she comped a friend's entire order b/c the hollandaise wasn't setting correctly and it took them a whole 5 minutes to remake it. I've never had a bad experience at this restaurant, one of the best places for brunch in Chicago.

horrible attitude
crazy manager woman. Very rude. Walked out. Not at all worth the attitude. We chose this place to celebrate a birthday and when we walked in we were treated so poorly that we walked out and went elsewhere.

watch out for she-devil
There are two Toasts in Chicago. Make sure you go to the one in bucktown, rather than the one in lincoln park. The manager at the one in Lincoln Park, is by far the rudest person Ive ever met. Its really a shame, because I love this breakfast joint. Its too bad her snobby demeaner makes the food taste bad.

New Favorite Place for Brunch
Food (especially the stuffed french toast) was awesome! Went on a Sunday during peak brunch time and ended up only having to wait 30 mins. Staff was super friendly. All around great experience.

Great place
Great place, small and efficient. They have the best breakfast! Stuffed French toast, Crabby Eggs Benedict, and Pretzel Bread special, all were delicious. Staff is friendly and very attentive. Never had to look for coffee refill or ask for anything. Definitely will be back.
