Great Addition
So glad they opened in our neighborhood! Excellent addition. The food is amazin!

Great Portage Park Restaurant
The Portage is a fantastic new addition to the Irving Park area. We visited a few weeks after they opened and the food/service was exceptional. The kobe burger was really good...along with a number of ice cold micro-brews. I'll definitely be going back soon. I've been telling everyone I know about this new place.

Almost There!!
I had read the paper and saw this restaurant featured. What caught my eye was the picture of the kobe burger. I went on a Sunday for brunch. The staff was well selected--extremely friendly, maybe, a tad too friendly. I believe one of the owners came to the table and was very nice. I had the french toast with roasted potatoes. The potatoes were great. The menu stated the french toast was boozy with berries. First, no berries. Second, there was not a trace or hint of booze in the french toast. Third, the toast was hard instead of soft. They have to rethink the french toast. I will go back to taste the kobe burger. The food is priced right, the amount given to eat is the right amount, and the atmosphere is very good.
