a nice escape
My boyfriend and I came across the Gage after a morning walk through the Millenium Park. Great place, really! I have to agree with the reviews. Our waitress was really fun. We tried the soup special she described as a "little touch of tropical to your day" with papaya and ginger. That was something new and delicious. Too bad we don't live in Chicago, we would return again and again! We will tell our friends in Ohio to visit when they are in town.

Outstanding
After 2 weeks of substandard fare and service, Gage, restored my faith in American cusine. Definitely in my top 5 best ever meals. Can't wait to go back

Very impressed
Went here in September with family. We were all very impressed. Lively atmosphere yet we felt very comfortable in a booth. Can't remember everything we had, but I did have the Duroc pork loin - very tasty; and another in the party had the elk - he said it was fantastic. Appetizers and desserts I remember to be equally yummy. Would definetly recommend and plan to go back when in Chicago next. Service was excellent - the waitress very knowledgable yet not pushy.

Stunned New Yorkers
We stumbled in on opening night, and can't stop returning. The Gage is one of the best overall dining experiences in the city--and we always have FUN. Not one dish has lacked luster, and jaded out of town guests have giggled with glee...

A keeper!
A fantastic restaurant that, though large, achieves intimacy and uniqueness in the midst of all of the over-the-top touristy food venues around the Park and in the Loop. The food is delicious, prepared with deft hands and a gourmet mind. Fish'n'chips = a must-have, but we also liked lighter options like carmelized lobster over lemon quinoa. Servers are knowledgeable and friendly. And the bartender was a perfectionist - he dumped out a Guinness because it didn't pour with the creamy foam to his liking, and he made us another glass for no charge. But make SURE to save room for DESSERT! Chocolate peanut butter cake may drive Reeses to extinction! And the lemon curd tart left us in a sweet reverie. This place is a MUST.
