Solid Pizza/Solid Price -- Ignore the Haters

While there are others in the discussion, The Art of Pizza is probably my favorite deep dish. And, to address the haters, I am in no way affiliated with The Art of Pizza. I'm sure none of the other positive reviewers are either. The sad truth is I'm a single bum who doesn't cook. And I'm stuck in the ways of my teenage years and early 20s. That is, I eat WAY too much pizza. Though I try to mix it up, AOP is where I go the most. I drive from Bucktown on a regular basis to pick it up. A few things to consider: - Don't be fooled by the lack of ambiance/character and the fact there's only one location. Several publications local and national have selected AOP as Chicago's best deep dish. - Great selection of slices (deep and thin) on a daily basis. Not just cheese or sausage or pepperoni. All of the above and more, including combinations and several veggie options. - Their daily pasta and sandwich specials are above average and a good value. I learned one thing very early after moving here: go where the cops go. If you see a police car (or four) outside an eatery, there's a good chance the place has solid food and is a good value. Drive or walk past AOP and there's a good chance you'll see plenty there.

    Very good deep dish

I don't know about the bad reviews below. I have tried stuffed pizza from the "famous" restaurants in Chicago and this is BY FAR the best I have had. The Art Of Pizza is so much better than Giardano's, Gino's, Lou Malnati's, Uno, etc., that it is not even comparable. The sauce is top notch but the thick, buttery crust really sets the pie apart from the competition. The massive amount of ingredients cuppled with the very thick crust makes the first slice delicious and the second slice hard to eat but still extremely delicious. It is possible that other small pizza restaurants that I have not yet had the pleasure to try might have better pizza. However, The Art Of Pizza is the best pizza I have found in the city.

Fantastic if you like deep dish

We ordered pizza while my family was visiting from Seattle and they LOVED it. Since then I've ordered several times and never been disappointed. The restaurant itself is nothing special but the deep dish pizza explodes with flavor. A little pricey for pizza but it's very tasty with fresh ingredients so I can't complain.

    Get Real

Where the heck are the good reviews coming from? This place is far from the best pizza in Chicago. There is no way the reviewers can possibly be serious about the positive reviews. This place is below average in this city filled with great pizza places. Really, do not be fooled by the positive reviews because the owners must have written them. I wasted my time and money at Art of Pizza. Menu pages should find a way to filter out the owner's attempt to fool customers into going to their establishment by writing false reviews. People, do not be fooled this place is a bad joke.

    Not an owner

This is some of the worst pizza I've ever tasted. You have better choices in the frozen food section of the local market. The pizza was on the border of uneatable. I would never step foot in art of pizza again. It was a horrible dining experience.

    Best Pizza Anywhere!

Art of Pizza is by far the best pizza in Chicago. One slice of the stuffed pizza will satisfy most. Try two if you dare. I will advise you to have about 45 min put aside for a cheese induced nap. The service is no-frills but very nice. The more times you come in you can tell that the guys there remember you and treat you great. It is not a fancy place with a staff that will bend over backwards for you. The pizza is the main reason you are there!

    Awesome food, great prices

I have eaten here for years, now we live about 45 miles outside of Chicago but still drive in a few times a month to do carry out. Now that is a true testiment to say just how good their food is. Their pizza is awesome, their pasta is awesome, their beefs are awesome. Great prices too.
