Flashy, overpriced, bad service
The service at Tavernita is simply unacceptable. We were ignored for 15 minutes upon being seated. We were basically wedged tightly into a tiny table between two other occupied tables when half the place was empty. After waiting forever with no water or acknowledgement by anyone, we beckoned over a server and she got our waiter. It's not like our waiter hadn't seen us--he had been to the tables on either side of us at least 3 times, just ignored us. He gave no apology, either. The food is outrageously overpriced, though tasty enough. The tapas are 2-3 times the price at Emilio's or Iberico, and of similar quality. I've lived in Spain, and can say with absolute certainty that there was nothing special or innovative about the food, it was just fine. The drinks, however, were very good. The restaurant is really just a glorified nightclub.
