worst experience in years
Thought we'd have a nice quiet dinner. The place was louder than any restaurant I've ever been to, at one point my date and I were shouting to be heard. The entre' for 2 was served over an hour after we ordered - the table on one side of us, seated after us, had what looked like a similar dinner and was served about 45 min before we were. The salad was about a 0.50$ bunch of lettuce, 2 thin slices of almost ripe tomato and some onion slices. Unbelievable - basic isn't even the word for it, simple would be a generous term. The slab of meat would have fed 4 adults easily. I would never go back and I will advise friends to stay away as well - why? it's loud, slow, somewhat expensive, and the food is just average.

A great diner
I like the BYOB, it gives me a chance to drink some of those wines I have been cellering foir the last 10 years. I have eaten at most of the BYOB sopts in the city and this is one of my favorites. I also like Tomboys on Clark. The steak was great. It was most gargontunous peice of meat I have ever seen. I had to sleep on my side that night. The place is alittle dark and cramped. But the food makes it worth my time. Dinner for 4 wo/tip $129

Hate to say it, but a disappointment
My husband and I went with another couple for the first time this Saturday. We had all heard good things and were looking forward to it. The service was fine. We had to wait for a table, but they called us in a timely fashion and we had a nice table. Love BYOB, atmosphere was really nice, and the price was fine, etc. The food, however, was really really really average. I shouldn't even say that the price was fine it was a little high based on the taste, but there was so much of it. So, tons of very average food is a good thing? Since we'd heard such good things we were looking forward to it, but it was very, "Eh." We all felt that way. I will say that the eggplant special appetizer was very good. The desserts, by the way, were atrocious. One was inedible. Seriously. Walk down the street and DQ something different.

Favorite BYOB in Chicago
If you are looking for a fabulous steak, a packed restaurant and a place to drink great wine without paying through the nose, this is the place. I would go every week if I could!

BYOB Fabulosity
I went on a Monday evening and the restuarant was packed. The service was great and the place had a wonderful atmosphere. The steak is to die for! Bring a bottle of red and you have the makings for a perfect meal out. The no corkage fee doesn't hurt either. Our group of friends loves that place so much we created a site for Tango Sur (we found that there was none): www.tangosur.typepad.com

Disappointed
I have heard so many good things about this place, so I tried it out on a Tuesday night was was beyond disappointed. My friend ordered chicken and I ordered stuffed steak. From the time we sat down to the time we got our entree it was almost a hour and a half. We did order the egggplant app (fantastic) but then waited almost a hour for our entree. Even the table next to us said something since they sat down when we were finishing our app. and their food came about 20 min before ours. On top of that I ordered my steak medium and it was so well done I almost couldnt eat it. Maybe it was a one-time bad experience, but it was a Tuesday and not even that packed.
