    One of my favorites!!!

My husband and I moved to Chicago a month and a half ago and we have been to this restaurant at least 5 times! It's fresh ingredients + simple tasty preperations = GREAT FOOD! Menus are printed daily and tweaks to the menu are made every so often. The food is a casual french style and we love everything we have ever had- from the scallops, to the pork chop, their fresh fishes, veggie tart, mac & cheese- you really can't go wrong. AND don't forget dessert-very well done from top to bottom-have had a few but my fav is the strawberry rhubarb pie!!! We are also a big fan of the brunch - a prefix with great, inventive and tasty menu choices. They have some cool specials too during the week so check out their website! You will not be dissapointed - Thank me later!

subpar service, food not worth it

I was very excited to book this reservation, since I'd been hearing about the restaurant for a while. When my party of four arrived, there weren't many other people, but I chalked that up to it being early in the evening. The lady who brought us water was very nice, but our waiter seemed weirdly hostile from the start. The appetizers, a fennel-cured salmon plate and a sweet potato bisque, were delicious. Unfortunately, the entrees weren't up to scratch. Two of us ordered scallops and were later told we'd have to pick another because they were out, which we didn't mind, but the food we got wasn't worth the price. Everything was very, very heavy. My seafood stew was very one-note and my boyfriend's salmon and lentils had such a heavy dose of truffle oil that he couldn't taste anything else. In general, it was pretentious and overpriced fare. The kicker was that we waited for a really long time for the check (and were given a laundry list of specials for every day of the week to come, which was painful since we had no intention of returning), and then the waiter left us alone for another eighteen minutes - with only one other group of diners. We finally got up, brought our check to another waitress, and left. The one mitigating factor is that the desserts were delicious and the chef sent out an extra piece of pie. This place started as a sweets-only establishment, and I might have liked it better that way.
