Restaurant was only half full. Waited 45 mins for our sushi which was not good. Not sure of it was the rice or cheap soy sauce but all the rolls (5 different) were all very sweet and not fresh tasting. When the bottle of wine was the best thing we had I would suggest going elsewhere!

You would think that in the "touristy" part of town the food selection would be all too generic for a local, but Sushi Taiyo outshines any other Sushi restaurant in Chicago in quality, creativity, service and flare. It's my 'hidden gem' and brings me back to NYC where fresh fish and good sushi is served chilled on every corner. Give it a whirl, bring a date and you'll be coming back for more....

I was pleasantly surprised by Sushi Taiyo. It was reasonably priced and the fish was very fresh. I would definately eat there again!

Having moved here from New York, I came to Chicago with a to-be-expected taste for Asian food. While most of the places I have tried in my brief stint here have been bland, forgettable, and all-around "vanilla," Sushi Taiyo was quite different. The sushi was fresh and exciting, the hot dishes plentiful and perfectly seasoned, and the chicken easily the most tender piece of meat I have had the pleasure of eating. I love recommending this place to family and friends, as it is not only a fantastic spot (kudos on the svelte interior, by the way), but easily the best Japanese food I've had in Chicago. Cheers!

We came to Chicago to go the aquarium and the field museum. We stayed at the Four Points Hotel and thought we would try Sushi Taiyo for dinner. It was the best sushi I have ever had!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!
