don't get the panang curry!!!
ok so i LOVE panang curry..it's the only thing i order at any and all thai resturants. The stuff they were selling at Saim could have been tomato paste with curry seasoning. It was super thick with chunks of meat. Now, i've had panang curry in texas and louisiana and even all the way in california and they've been the same--soup-like consistency, fresh vegetables, delicious spices...just superb! This place should be ashamed..nay EMBARRASSED for trying to pass that...item...off as curry..i'm not even thai and i'm insulted!

The best Thai restaurant in Chicago!
Star of Siam is my favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago; I've been to this restaurant for both lunch and dinner countless times over the years and it never fails to impress me! The food is amazing and the prices can't be beat. Dinner entrees rarely exceed $7 which is quite impressive for the quality of food and the amazing atmosphere (it's an exposed brick loft in the reader bldg with loads of Thai artifacts). This place is great for a party or dinner for two... and they deliver!!!
