    Food to Die For

I'm proud to be the first reviewer of Spiaggia! Being more of a modern-eclectic foodie myself, I sometimes find Italian fare too humdrum for my appetite. Spiaggia, however, really is something special, offering many delicious appetizers, appetizer-sized portions of pastas, and meat and fish entrees that let you try a number of delicious tastes in one meal. The pesce cruda (sashimi Italian-style as I would describe it) was great, and the pancetta-wrapped rabbit appetizer was something I'll never forget. Absolutely delicious. The star of the night, however, and the dish I would never be able to return without ordering, was the gnocchi with ricotta sauce and black truffle sauce. The gnocchi were so deliciously light and soft and the sauces indescribably amazing. Not a single dish from our party of four left with a scrap of food remaining, and we ordered with gusto, each getting three courses plus dessert. The portion sizes were excellent. I only wish I had had a bit more room to sample the cheese course and to explore the desserts more eagerly, though I did try a trio of gelati, all of which were delicious. I left Spiaggia satisfied to the utmost and unable to not think about my next possible excuse to return. From the tranquil atmosphere to the scrumtious food to the professional yet amiable waitstaff (and I should know--I despise stuffy waiters but here we ended up having a lot of laughs with the crew!), Spiaggia is the place to be when you absolutely, positively must indulge. This review is so good they should comp me for it :)
