    Take out

My first time here and worth the trek! Found street parking. 3ish blocks from highway. Gentleman at front register very nice welcoming. I got the dinner special take out which seemed a tad pricey at $11.50 but it's more food that you get for $10 at the Green Festival. Bbq tips (yum!), creamy potato salad (fine), collards (yum!), corn, and chili (pretty good, even found a mushroom). Got mac n' cheese to go. Surprised to get corn on cob in March, doesn't seem appropriate. I was encouraged to return for Sunday dinner buffet (or smthg like that with many options). Will be back with veg friends. Thank you.

    Fantastic Fare

I LOVE the Soul Vegetarian Restaurant. The food is amazing, fresh and well presented. My favorites are the parsley salad (when available) falafels and hebrew fries. But over the years, I've had a lot a the menu items and I have always enjoyed anything I've ordered. I'm getting hungry thinking about it. The fresh juice bar next door is great too. I highly recommend The Soul Vegetarian East.

    Very good food....poor service

The food is seasoned and presented very well. However, the service makes it not worth the ride, don't be on ur lunch break. U wait and wait. I may give them another chance. Idk

    Soul Vegetarian worth the trip

(excerpt) I ordered the dinner special for $11.99 but unfortunately they were out of the Lentil Carrot soup so I got the veggie noodle instead. I also ordered 2 sandwiches to go for the red eye-ish flight out of Midway at a rolling departure time of between 2130 and 2330. I so wanted a BBQ twist sandwich but they were out so I ended up with the Prince Elkannon (Garvey) Burger. I generally shy away from burgers but I had a few bites in the plane and downed it later at 3am and it was divine with sauteed mushrooms and onions in a sweet whole wheat bun. Later I also had a few bites of my Jerkfu Wrap, (a caribbean delight made with sautéed onions bell peppers and our specially seasoned jerk tofu, wrapped in a spinach tortilla). this sauce reminded me of the sauce boneless spare ribs used to come in ... sweet and succulent.

    more vegan pasta

i really enjoy the pasta dishes that soul veg offers and i want them to have even more options i think that they should have some sort of cust feedback card to inform the staff when problems occuer with the food and to rate the overall experience

A must try place for any vegetarian!

The food at Soul Vegetarian is unbelievably delicious. Everything is vegan, but you would never know from the taste that there's no butter, milk, etc. Just try one of their delicious pies and cakes--they are actually better than most non-vegan desserts you will find. If you can get it before it runs out, definitely try the sweet potato pie. I go there especially for the mouth-watering barbecue twist and the battered cauliflower, but everything else is delicious too--including their breakfasts. If you're a vegetarian, forget about all those other veggie restaurants with their flavorless food--you will be amazed. This place proves that vegetarian or vegan does not have to be bland. I only have one complaint: the service is not the greatest, and when you order several different items, expect them to come at different times. My grilled cornbread usually comes after I'm finished with everything else, which doesn't make much sense. Maybe you have to request everything to come at once--I don't know.
