Better than Frontera
I'm extremely critical when it comes to Mexican fine dinning because I am Mexican. This little place far EXCEEDED my expectations. I had the Sopa Azteca, amazing because my family makes a real mean pasilla sauce. The Borrego en Mole Negro was really good because it really tasted like my grandmothers recipe, not too sweet very spicy. The sangrias were delicious. I tried other plates and appetizers and they were very well presented and savory. As for the service we were treated like royalty, as a server myself that was a great treat. Parking was a sinch, right in front of the restaurant. So next time you're debating btwn Adobo Grill and Frontera (I love rick bayless), step out to the west of the city to Sol de Mexico.

Alright!
The food was alright. But the service was bad. As soon as we went inside, we got treated as if we didn't have any money, all because it was a fancy restaurant. I didn't appreciate being treated that way, therefore, I made sure I left the waitress or owner a 25% tip, so they can see that I did have money.

A Hidden Gem
A Find! My husband and I went here last weekend and we were blown away. You would never think that on this gritty section of Cicero would be such a beautiful restaurant. The owner came by our table to check on us a couple of times but was never overbearing. The decor makes you forget Cicero Avenue. I've always hated guacomole until I had it here. And the margaritas...yum! Finally, you've never had flan until you've had it here.
