Tasty BBQ
First time there. Had the Brisket, chopped and sliced. Brisket better off sliced. Chopped was a bit dry. Loved to Mac & Cheese, really creamy. Cole slaw was good, not the usual mayonnaise type. Small place but staff is friendly and helpful. Not the easiest place to get to if you don't have a set of wheels, but its just off the Blue Line (Irving Park & Pulaski).

You won't find better!
Have tried many BBQ places in the Chicago area and none compare to Smoque. No matter what day or time of day you go there, the food and service are 5 star. The management is always on hand to greet guests and help. Once you've been to Smoque, you won't go anywhere else. Casual, noisy atmosphere, but just what a true BBQ place should be. Our grandchildren love the place and our granddaughter proclaimed, "The best mac & Cheese I've ever had!"

Real Deal BBQ!!!!!!!!!!
I am from the south, and have had bbq thruout the USA, this is the best Q in the midwest hands down..Unlike the whiner in the earlier review it is worth the wait..But ther is no need to wait if your smart on the time you go, or better yet call in ahead and p/u your order..Enjoy......

this is it, boys and girls!
I have lived in Chicago for 6 years and have tried to "find it" and couldnt.....until now. This is it. The best ribs and brisket in town. I actually havent even made it to the pulled pork and I have been there about half a dozen times. I cannot get past the sliced brisket sandy......And if Im feelin frisky the ribs are the best I have ever had...just right... slowly smoqued. Im hungry...

Just wait...
Long line, crowded room, but glorious, glorious barbecue. Certainly the best I've had in Chicago. I'm still having dreams about the St. Louis Ribs and all the sides are knockouts. Best was the cornbread and the peach cobbler...though the beans and coleslaw were wonderful, too.

Bring the BBQ home
We had Smoque cater a party for 20 people last night and could not have had a better experience. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS (ribs were beyond tender and yummy, the brisket melted in your mouth) and the overall experience was really terrific. One of the owners personally delivered the food (granted I paid a lot for the delivery - I know they are busy and had a tough time sparing any of their staff), but he did so with a smile and charm. The quanitities were perfectly estimated and the guests went wild for the food. I swear I won't be getting my BBQ anywhere else from now on. Really, really and truly delicious food!

Give me a minute, will ya?
The food is good, but the pressure is on to eat it and get out. I don't think I've ever eaten so fast in my life. The staff "hover" around the tables of jammed in diners, and the minute your last rib bone hits the plate, it's history and time to clean the table for another customer. Truth be told, I ate so fast I'm not sure I tasted much. Oh, did I mention the decibel level? I'm still trying to recover my hearing a day later. I would never recommend this place for dining in - carry out only please so you can eat in peace.
