Never got beyond the Chicago-Style Hot Dog

I've been restructuring and restoring a racing yacht in Crowley's Yacht Yard for several years and often eat at the Skyway Dog House. This is such a great dog that I have never ordered anything else. The stand only has six stools and a counter for eating in (there is a picnic table for warm weather). But the atmosphere is honest and pleasant partly because the owner has a Sinatra-American Song Book station playing all the time. It is classy. I also met and talk to friendly, interesting people there. And a favorite of police and utility workers. The service is extraordinarily fast and the owner is friendly and often there working like his cheerful staff. Only the bathroom needs improving.

The best on the southeast side

I have been eating here since 1995. I love their Chicago style polish (i dont eat hotdogs). I have experience nothing but great friendly customer service. Never a long wait for food which is prepared to order. Good quality food and great service is what keeps me coming back.

    Makes a REAL hotdog

I watched them build this place as a kid. I grew up right down the street. We use to save pennies just to get a hotdog from there. They spoiled me on what a good hotdog is. When I moved to Indiana and ordered a Chicago Dog at restaurant, I got this THING with ketchup, plus it was a generic hotdog . My first thought was -What..This isn't a hotdog. IF I dare chance to order a chicago hotdog anywere I always find out first if it's vienna beef. And stress, No Ketchup....This little place puts fresh cucumber on the hotdogs. It just adds so much to it. I've read that chicago hotdogs don't usually have cucumbers on it. Well mine always did and I still love it.
