The jalapeno in the sushi at first seemed a bit weird, but I thought it added a different spice than the wasabi. I liked it. Also its byob. Can't beat that! Really cool and quaint area.

The best sushi place in Chicago. I don't know why you feel the need to read any further, but since you felt the need, I feel obliged to keep writing. Food... First off, it's BYOB. One point for Seadog. Second, the sushi is the freshest I've had in the city. Fifty points for Seadog. It's my scoring system, it doesn't have to make sense to you. Anyways, I know I'm talking crazy here, but it tasted as fresh as the sushi I had at Nomi, but so much more creative and flavorful. Yeah, I just said I'd rather have Seadog than Nomi. That just happened. I'll give you a second to regain your sense of normalcy. Bring it back now... If you go, you must, must try the Triple S and the Volcano. The Triple S is my favorite: sweet potato wrapped with fresh salmon and topped with toasted spicy dynamite sauce. They have a special called the Seadog Tower sometimes that is also incredible. I can't recall anything aside from the soft shell crab (heck, I might be wrong about that too), but just trust me on that one. Decor... The interior is nice and small. Exposed brick, high ceilings, just dark enough, with a small sushi bar for people to sit at as well. Service... The servers and the sushi chefs are all extremely nice. They recognized us after our second visit and now always welcome us as well as bid us adieu. Now go... I've been to Seadog with my wife, with my friends, and everyone agrees it's amazing. If you don't agree with, there's a small, though not insignificant chance, we'll hunt you down and, well, you know the rest.

This place is great! There is so many bad sushi places in wicker park but this one does not even compare! Fresh and favorable sushi! Great atmosphere! Love it!!

I had an unexpectedly wonderful time here, grabbing a quick bite before a play at the Chopin. From being warmly greeted by the floor staff to being welcomed by the chefs at the Sushi Bar, I felt like a special guest. When they found out is was my first visit they gave me a few extra morsels to sample. Everything I tasted was fantastic and new. Just the right amount everything and so fresh. (Finally - fresh carrots in the teriyaki - not the canned kind other places use!). The enthusiasm and pride of the kitchen staff was a rare and welcome treat in this town.
