This place has gone downhill
This used to be a decent restaurant but I don't know what has happened to it lately. The food is pretty terrible. I have gone back 2-3 times, thinking that perhaps the last bad experience was a fluke, but no. They are consistently bad and I will not go there again. My last order was roast beef sandwiches, pizza and side orders of fried mushrooms. The fried mushrooms were soggy, rubbery and bland. The roast beef sandwich likewise. The sandwich bread tasted stale. The pizza was pretty low quality. We ordered bacon, sausage, onions and extra cheese. With the "extra cheese", it still had about as much cheese as a regular Domino's pizza. I dunno when Salerno's got so stingy, but the toppings were very meager, and the quality was poor. If you are in the Chicago area, there are much, much better Italian restaurants to spend your money.

High quality
The best appetizers,large portions Excellent home made quality on all dishes. generous portions. pizza the best around, never had a tasty crust like it.
