The Best Authentic Mid. East Food
I lived in Chicago my whole life, and i am proud to say i was raised eating salam's food. The serive and quality of their food is amazing, they are hands down the best middle eastern resturant in chicago, maybe even the whole country. They have the best falafel, best shawarma, and always freshest bread. Other middle eastern places might appear nicer, but thats all advertisement, salam speaks for itself. For those of you who don't go to this resturant, please try it ASAP, and always stay for the post meal tea, or what we may call it, "chai". Everytime i come to that resturant, i feel at home. Salam is my favorite place to eat, if i had more hands, id say ALL THUMBS UP!!!!

No.1 in the northside!!
I have tried a few middle eastern places in my 12 years in Chicago and this one is just great, the service is very simple and on cue, if u are a regular they will love u and give u free stuff to eat. If u love a platter that won't last till diner u can call and tell them to save u some of the special of today!!. The best dolmas in the city!!!, the best falafels in the city, great chicken (get the shik taur) awesome daily specials. Am moving to Austin Tx. and am going to miss this place. Hope to find something like it over there. BTW all the other mid east places around kind of suck. But i have not tried all, but if it looks to pretty and fancy (yupi) it wont be good food, for the best food, always look for the locals eating, usually if they are middle eastern its probably good, if u don't see anything but white people, its probably a hip place that cares to spend their money in making the place look cool, rather than making great food.

Ask for the specials
The food is good but don't just order from the menu..ask about the specials. The authentic food is made special on the weekends and the dinners are not your typical falafel sandwiches or anything like that. They are what you would have in average arab household.

Salam is the best! Makes you feel great.
Salam is the best. The food makes you feel fantastic. It is delicious, fast and inexpensive. The staff is fun and helpful. Service is the best in Middle Eastern hospitality no matter who you are. Right off the Kedie L makes it easy to pick up a great lunch or dinner.
