Ruth's Chris Steak House

We had an awesome dinner. For those of you that base your dining on the dress code of others.... Your loss!

I have never had a bad experience at the many times I have eaten at this Ruth's Chris location. In fact I had some leftover 3 cheese au gratin potatoes and they accidentally dropped them while putting them in a to go box. I ended up with a whole serving. Our steaks have always been prepared to how we like it. I will be there on Dec 8th and we will be ready for a great meal!

Great service, great atmosphere but we were disappointed with the food. Don't mind paying for a good steak but we could hardly chew ours and the rest of the food was way over priced.

Had dinner at Ruths Chris in Chicago over the weekend (saturday Sept 1). I have previously eaten at this location a few other times years ago. Food this time around was good but not great. I do not mind paying $200-300 for a great meal with cocktails..but this meal cost us $250 with drinks for the two of us and I have to say, it was def not worth it. Service was just ok...and it seems that they have let there dress code requirements slack. People were having dinner in shorts, t-shirts, baseball hats? Really? Never will we go back

I have eaten here several times over the last three years. when my rather large steak came to the table the plate it was served on was so small I was shocked. There was no room to cut it up and no room to add vegetables and potatoes. this place is not as good as it once was. Our food took forever to come. bottom line is I will not go back.

We visited Ruth Chris in August of 2008. As usual, the food and service was what you would expect of a Ruth Chris, wonderful. However the atmosphere was what I would expect at McDonalds. We called the restaurant and inquired about the dress code. We were told that jackets were not required but preferred. Since we were visiting from out of town we packed accordingly. upon arriving at the restaurant our table was not ready so we sat in the bar and obseved people dressed in t-shirts and shorts. One family walked in off the street and looked like they had come in off the beach. They gave their name to the hostess and also took a seat in the bar. A lady sitting across from us was dressed in gym shorts and a hooded sweatshirt. It really ruined a wonderful meal for us. We live in a city that does not have a Ruth Chris so we always look forward to the outstanding food, service and atmosphere that the Ruth Chris name exemplifies. When I questioned the wait staff about the dress code they said that shorts were not allowed and sent over the manager who seemed to care less about our concerns. We left feeling like we had just eaten at a fast food restaurant. McDonalds.

I have been to other steak restaurants and have NEVER had such phenomenal service or food. Cory was wonderful, he personally ran to the store for a soda they didn't carry (although it wasn't necessary he did). The food , the service, the whole experience a 10++. Enjoy!
