Bring on the Chicken
They really don't have to serve anything but the chicken, but not to take anything away from any other dishes. This place is GREAT! We mostly do take out and it never disappoints. The chicken is flavored and perfectly seasoned. The sides are always done well, but the creamy sauce is to die for. It is hot, but as soon as you are done with one bite, you are dipping for more. Please keep this place going forever!

it was just okay
since i am from Peru i have been trying different peruvian restaurants, so Rosa the Lima was not the exception. i ask for an easy dish (lomo saltado), and it wasnt good. it did not have much taste, and the soup that it came with was the same. I think this restaurant needs to improve more.

Not Peruvian to my taste.
Sorry to disappoint some people, but after reading so much about the great chicken, the hot sauce and the soup (free chicken soup once you are seated) there is nothing good i could say about these dishes. 1) the chicken skin is crispy, but the rest is same as any other place 2)hot sauce, is bad, not creamy at all, flavor is different, it feels like eating asparagus mix with mint leaves uhg!! 3) free chicken soup as soon as you are seated. 4)place is too dark, couldn't see the menu at all, i had to move to the cashier side to see menu. 4) the ocopa was pretty good, but for $9:00 i would rather make it myself, it was small plate too high of a price. Waiters were very nice, polite, smiles evrywhere, they also have a very extensive dessert menu.

Rosa De Lima Modern Peruvian Flavor
I have been to all of the Peruvian Restaurants in Chicago and even some in Lima and this is by far the best. It is very traditional like the restaurants in Lima but exceeds any of the restaurants in Chicago. I had a chance to speak with the utive chef at Rosa De Lima, Ricardo, and he siad he was going to bring a modern flare to traditional dishes from Peru and hopes that Chicagoins will enjoy both the traditional and authentic and also the contemporary dishes. P.S. The best Peruvian chicken I have ever had!
