Burger to die for!
In town to see Patty Griffin at House of Blues and visit my wonderful littler sister, Tess. Tess couldn't wait to take us to Rootstock and we braved a crazy cabbie in a cab with no brakes (and several near death experiences) and came in Friday night for my mom's birthday dinner. Started with the Frites and they were addictive: light, crisp, hot, well seasoned and served with choice of homemade ketchup or aioli...also shared the mussels...wonderful and served with some bread (which I used to saok up the delicious juices). Next came the burger..perfectly cooked with a scallion aioli and tangy cheese, mixed greens with light, tart dressing. Service was perfect...atmosphere unpretentious and smart. Thanks, Rootstock for a highpoint of our trip. We will be back.
