    Something Different and BYOB

I ate there last night at the suggestion of my neighbor and I was impressed. it is a very clean family run place. Several things we ordered stood out as exceptional. We had three different seafood entrees which were all five stars in my book. The Arroz con Camarones (Rice with Shrimp) at $11.99 was a great dish. The rice was seasoned to perfection and it was mixed with the perfect amount of peas, carrots to balance out the dish. The Arroz con Mariscos (Rice with Mixed Seafood) at $16.50 was even better. Like the Camarones dish the rice was similar but mine was additionallychocked full of different seafood including big pieces of REAL crab and it rivaled any Paella I have ever ordered at other restaurants around Chicago less the sausage and other meats found in Paella. The last entrée my group ordered was steamed fish fillet served with the same toppings as the Pescado Frito (Whole fried fish). It too was exceptional for the health conscious ones among us that are always looking for good place to eat. Before dinner we also ordered a sampler of appetizers and for our taste the one we found most interesting was the Papa Rellena. It was uniquely different from anything we were familiar with from other Latin-American restaurants we frequent and it was accompanied with tasty marinated red onions. I would stay clear of the appetizers that resemble Mexican or Puerto Rican menu items. These appetizers are not what you’re expecting. The tamales are sweet and cheesy or both savory and sweet at the same time. They were not my bag but that’s not saying someone else might like them. Overall we loved the place and will return soon. Remember to bring your own bottle if you enjoy a nice bottle of wine with an excellent meal! www.restaurantecuador.com

    Seafood lover's Delight

The portions were a little over the top. You could serve 4 on the dish my fiance got. Rice and vegetables with various seafood. I loved the oatmeal drink, it was like horchata but better. We went here a few months ago. Hopefully it will be as good when we go back.
