A Very Good Deal
The on-screen menu doesn't begin to give you the picture because Red Apple is an all-you-can-eat buffet of 20-30 entrees and all to go with, salad bar, desserts, and everything is like home-cooking if your grandma is Polish. Food is brought out all the time, hot and fresh, by nice Polish kitchen ladies. Price depends on hour and day but stays around $10 for the ultimate pig-out. Their own parking lot is behind the restaurant, or you can take the 56 Milwaukee bus from State & Madison and get off at Hamlin---you'll be at the door. While in the neighborhood, browse Polish shops and buy some Polish Cherry at Avon Liquors.

good stuff
Food good; excellant variety daily; Service buffet, but could have more staff that understands and speaks English to answer questions, and sometimes questions need to be asked when food pans aren't labled. Value is very good for those who eat in; carry out is a bit pricey. (Charge by the pound) Atmosphere is a bit cramped and "steamy", but the BIG eaters don't seem to mind the " all you can eat" deal. The Red Apple reminds me of the closest I could come to home cooked food, and thats' why I keep going back.
