I go out of my way for this delicious food
Well, folks, I live far away from Rajun Cajun, but I willingly drive to enjoy this delicious food. It's not the greatest Indian food I've ever tasted, perhaps, but it's addictive nonetheless, and I feel perfectly comfortable with the informal decor. Go to Rajun Cajun! Enjoy!

A Mix of Indian and Soul
I just had a delivery from Rajun Cajun 07/24/09 and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent. I ordered a samosa (delicious), a medium butter chicken (nice and spicy), a medium basmati rice (you can't really mess up rice), a medium mac & cheese, (I love Mac&Cheese - this one was a little too cheesy but still good) and a chai tea (deliciously sweet). My order arrived in thirty minutes and the delivery guy was polite. All of this cost me less than 20 bucks including delivery charge, taxes and a .50 credit card fee! Though the fact that they charge a CC fee irked me a little. Definitely will order from them again!

Deliciousness
This Indian place is so delicious and very cheap. The food is always hot and very well made. It is probably my most favorite take out place in Hyde Park. I always get the dinner combo, butter chicken and mutter paneer, which are very good, tender, and tasty. I never get tired of eating it!!! Definitely a great place for Indian food.

Rajun Cajun = love
Best drunk/ high food in HP. And they deliver if it's cold/ you're feeling lazy. And plus, how can you not love a place with food called "Butter Chicken" and "Peas and Cheese"?

It's not Cajun, it's awesome
So it's not real Indian food? Who cares, it's delicious food and we're hours away from Devon on the CTA. And it's not Cajun? I'm from New Orleans and if I can handle the fact that it's not Cajun, so. Can. You. It's cheap and they have delicious samosas and good portions. The lady there made me stop ordering samosas once because she didn't want me to get a bellyache. If that's not a good restaurant I don't know WHAT IS.

Neither Indian Nor Cajun
Overpriced for the poor quality food & service, I won't recommend to anybody.

Mediocre Indian Food
I thought that this restaraunt would be alright despite the odd name given that the owner is Indian and I saw some desi's eating there, but I was sorely mistaken. Perhaps it's the fact that I'm not from Chicago, but I found Rajun Cajun's Indian food to be quite mediocre--not that it was bad--but I'm certainly used to much better. I got the veggie plate (~9 USD) which comes with Basmati Rice, a Pakora (though what I received was a Samosa), a Chapati, and two vegetables. I selected Saag Paneer and Gobi Sabji (Cauliflower in Tomato Curry) as my two vegetables. The Gobi Sabji (the owner only had this in the back) was excellent., but it was the only saving grace of this restaurant. The basmati rice was exceptionally bland and the samosa was not spiced at all. The Saag Paneer was your standard bad Saag Paneer--mushy and gray. In addition to being a gray mess, it was spiced improperly and there was no heat. The chapati was definitely authentic and pretty delicious. I don't think that my complaints about this place are necessarily related to the skill of the chef/owner. Perhaps people in Chicago are not as adventurous as they are in my city (we have a very large Indian population) and he is trying to cater to the local taste. I don't think that Rajun Cajun is good value because the price is not justified by the quality of the food. For the same price that I paid for Rajun Cajun, I could have had buffet--which Rajun Cajun essentially is since it is all prepared though not all you can eat like the buffet I'm referring to-- at an upscale Indian restaurant with much better food. And for almost half of the price, I could have had an all you can eat buffet with much better food at a cheap fast-food style place. The owner was however quite friendly and service was decent for a fast-food style place. It appears that he serves southern comfort food which is quite good. I just wish that the Indian food was as good.
