Never been to Portillos until last week and had for the first time a "real" Chicago style hot dog.Overall Good service and management.

From char broiled burgers and chicken sandwiches to Italian beefs and hot dogs, everything here is superb. The condiment are generously applied (tomatoes, pickles, onions, etc). The size of the sandwiches are huge compared to most establishments and for anyone that loves vintage decor will love a sit-in here to eat, just take my word give it a try I'm sure you'll rave just like the millions before you

This place used to be THE spot to get a burger or Chicago style hotdog (their salads are also pretty good...) But over time they have lost focus. Wrong orders, stale bread and just a lack of quality service have downgraded them not only in my book but with my friends as well. Too bad - they could have been 5s across the board.

Food is fine and prices pretty reasonable, but if you have a complex order combination be prepard to stand in line three separate time (and pay 3 times) to get what you want.

Made a quick stop in here on a recent visit to Chicago. My first Chicago dog with the works and it was quite good. Nothing to rave about but it made a quick snack in the afternoon and was tasty.

This place is totally overrated food is average and the food quality is, quite frankly, subpar.

Portillo's is amazing You need to go there multiple times so that you can try their hot dogs, italian beef, maxwell street polish and award winning ribs. Thier milkshakes are delicious too. If you don't live here, this is a great way to experience the way Chicagoans enjoy thier food... whatever you do, dont put ketchup on your dog!
