Drove from Michigan with the family to attend the Marc Anthony concert and we were told by a fellow family member to try out "El Ponce" so we googled the name and eventually found the restaurant. Drove about 4 hours and never had such an amazing meal in my life. Our family is Puerto Rican and this restaurant is as real as it gets. Love the people/environment, will definitely eat here everytime I'm in Chicago! Thank you for making such good food, if you ever wanna franchise I'll be one of the first to buy a restaurant! God bless you guys.

I have been looking for a good Puerto Rican restaurant for a long time and was surprised to discover this small little restaurant. I've passed it up many times, but didn't dare to walk in, thinking it wasn't going to be good. Well, I finally went with a friend and have not stopped going there since then. The food is delicious! Everything from the Bistec Encebollado to the pasteles, lechon, alcapurrias, relleno de papa, and even morcillas! I LOVE EVERYTHING! It's true.... they are understaffed, but do the best they can. What they lack in service, you gain in flavorful food. You will love their food and go back!

Best food in town. They may not have the best looking or biggest restaurant , but they pack it in. I would say weekends they are busy . They have slow service because they need more help. They need at least 2 girls at the counter & 2 girls waiting on tables especially on the weekend. Other then that love the food. My whole family are frequent customers . I use to live in Chicago , but I live in Indiana . I have referred many friends from Indiana to Ponce.

The food here is great. If you have ever had Puerto Rican Food you know the oil comes along with it. But the taste was AMAZING. The portion sizes were HUGE.... Of course the service is kinda slow but its just like you'er on the island, it comes with the territory. As long as you have great company. You really don't feel it. The Space is small but very clean. They have about a dozen tables that sit at least 4 people at each table. The Carry Out line pretty much never was less than 2-3 people waiting throughout our entire dinner. That has to tell you the food is awesome. Definitely want to go back with new friends and family.
