Well maybe it's true...as you get older you become a bit jaded maybe a bit more expectant and demanding of what you are going to enjoy and eat. I used to live in the West Loop 8 years ago when this neighborhood restaurant was relatively new and back then I recall the food being excellent and warm and the servers attentive and inviting. Now that I have again moved back to the are I wanted to do a quick carry out last night in the bitter cold. My dog was tied up outside because they promised my food would be ready in 5 minutes but it took longer and no one even offered me a drink of water. I was asked if I wanted the complimentary chips to be packed into my take out meal but they forgot that and I was kind of disappointed when I opened my bag to see they forgot the chips. I ordered the steak dinner with relenos and yes it was kind of bland but I am not a real fussy eater. It should and could have been a bit more spicy but I was pretty satisfied. I did not like the way they were careless about promising a quick meal to go and completely forgetting the chips. I will eat here again but will dine inside since I might get a better meal.

While I'm not Hispanic and probably don't know real Mexican food...I do love Mexican food. I was excited to go here...but honestly, the food wasn't good. Very bland. I was so disappointed. Place was not crowded...only a couple of tables filled and the waitress wouldn't come back for drink refills. The beer was the one thing that was good!

We know Perez Restaurant for 17 years. The food is great, the service is excellent and their tropical drinks are delicious. The place is clean, the food is flesh and well done. Their salsas are made daily and are tasty. A great family restaurant, were you can bring guests and family.

This is one of my family's favorite restaurants! We try to go at least once a week while we're in town, my favorite are the enchiladas, but everything else on the menu is amazing too! I can't believe no one has said anything about the margaritas, they are my all time favorite. They use the real stuff, good liquor and no fruity fillers, and even while living in Dallas I couldn't find a comparison. Order one pitcher and you'll be singing all the way home. :)

Food was good, but didn't take my credit card. May go again, but only when I can stop and get cash.

If you want to eat REAL Mexican food you need to go beyond taco and burrito dinners. This is the place for this. Excellent prices. Better than the other popular place (Nuevo Leon) down the street on 18.
