    Hummos How-To

How to have perfect hummos to serve to guests at home: 1) Get a takeout of a large order of hummos at Oasis Cafe. 2) It will have some raw vegetables on top and some pita on the side; eat them and call this your lunch. 3) Add a little garlic powder as OC's hummos has a perfect buttery consistency but (to my taste) needs garlic. 4) You will have almost a pint of hummos. Refrigerate until the guests arrive and try to stay out of it until then.

    Brilliantly crafted, delicious food!

I get lunch here 2-3 days a week (probably starve otherwise). Everything is fabulous and fresh! Soups are yummy and different. There are Middle Eastern goodies that I treasure readily available everyday, such as a bean dish that is out of the ordinary on Wabash The talented chef is able to get to know his regulars and their preferences - a wonderful sense of hospitality during a busy day. And the staff is so sensitive to creating lovely plates in a short amount of time. Simple seating is available - I like the upstairs area.

The lunch line says a lot...

Located at the back of a jewelry mall, I was lucky to come across this place. Not much atmosphere, but for lunch during the week, this place is great. Food is very good. Service is quick and efficient. Good portion size. Seating is pretty limited. On my second trip here I noted the line. There were plenty of (10-12) people in it and they cranked them thru. There is a reason for the line at this very "out of the way" place.
