    more than once....

I go to Nono's as often as I get to the North Side. I have had them cater a wedding shower and Christmas Eve with raves about the food. I will continue to get there as often as I can. The owners, Michael and Lou are gracious hosts and always visible. luv it....

    Service is lacking

The food is fine, the atmosphere is fine, but the service is lacking. If you get seated the wait staff is adequate - I state IF YOU GET SEATED. We went on a Thursday evening and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. We sat down to wait and noticed that more than half the tables were empty and servers were just standing around doing nothing. It made me feel like a moron to wait - so we didn't. He have eaten there previously and the food is not worth a wait.

You have to check this place out

Nonno Pino's is one of the best restaraunts in the area. The exposed brick walls and high ceilings offers a warm and rustic enviornment. We have been dining at the place for over a year now and it is amazing how much the staff and owners pay attention to their customers. People all seem to know eachother and eveyone is well taken care of. The food is amazing and the portions are a good size and great value. I have ordered special requests and never had a problem. My family has had parties in the restauraunt and both the staff and owners treat every party with great importance. Bring your kids for an early dinner or meet with your friends for martini night...this place has it all and a friendly atmosphere

    The restaurant to beat!

I have been going to Nonno Pinos for about five years now and have always left in a good mood. First, the food. Exceptional. It's like going to your Italian Grandma's house for dinner...homemade sauces, delicious meats, fresh vegetables and the servings are abundant (more than enough for lunch the next day!) Next, the service. Everyone, the servers, the bartenders, the greeters and the bus boys are quick, helpful and pleasant. The owners are even more gracious . They are two gentlemen who go out of their way to please customers....and I am not just talking about the basics like seeing if people like their entree or need another drink as they pass by....I have seen these guys order cabs for people, assist elderly people to their cars, and help stuggling parents with their babies. I have also had many parties there and I know several of my guests have since reserved the restaurant for parties of thier own. I hope nothing changes at one of my favorite places!

It had a good run, but it's over

I'm not sure if management has changed, but the menu and service certainly have. My family has gone to Nonno's for every special occassion, from birthdays to my wedding rehersal dinner. The atmosphere, food and service were always amazing. Somtime in the last few months, the menu changed, as well as the service and food quality. Appetizer: Egg Plant Rolls. The portion was cut in half, but the price was raised. It still tastes great. The Family Style Salad: Yeah, if you're a family of one. The salad was always previously generous and had a variety of lettuce and other mixed greens. Now it's just a small pile of iceberg with a tomato. Chicken Veggie Soup: Hot water with chicken and veggies. Relatively flavorless. Ricotta Sauce: The waitress didn't even know what it was. Service: There was a 35 minute wait between salad and entree. The waitress passed us several times and didn't acknowledge us when we tried to flag her down. We were there for an early dinner and they were out of the special at 6PM, but still advertised it. The place opened for dinner a couple hours earlier. If you don't have it, don't advertise it. 2 of our party of 4 wanted that particular special. This place has always been my favorite restaurant, and it's really sad to see it go so far downhill so quickly. My wife and I went to this place 2-3 times a month and it was always the most enjoyable place for our date-nite. I'm not sure what happened, but things have slipped severely. I have recommended Nonno's to well over 100 people since the place opened, but I'm afraid I have to pull back those recommendations.
