    good for fusion-y type place

we had a Korean Beef app-it was served raw (yum!) over seaweed with hot sauce-really tasty. I had the Sashimi comob which was fresh as can be and spouse a spider roll and rainbow roll, both of which he was very happy with. On Monday nights (the night we went by luck) Martinis and Cocktails were 1/2 off. Lots of of saki infused things. We were staying in the River North area so this was nice as it was walking distance. This is more of a fusion type place rather than really authentic Japanese. Nevertheless the fish was really fresh, and if you are a roll person, this place had some great ones.

    the pieces are amazaing!

ive had some great rolls there (sexy mexican) but what really blows me away every time is how good the nigiri/sashimi are. i never would have expected it but they have such a high quality of fish

    Great spot

A girlfriend and I had dinner here on Saturday night. The raspberry mojito is fabulous and the sushi rolls were fantastic. We had the Sexy Mexican and the Diablo and both were delicious. I also had a super tasty piece of the seared albacore tuna that was topped with a few small fried onions which added to the wonderful flavor of the fish. The atmosphere is trendy but not pretentious and the staff was very attentive- from the manager, to the waiter, to the bus boys, to the bartender. I dropped a chopstick and before I could even think about asking for another set, they were placed at the table. I can't wait to go back and try more of the specialty rolls that look so tasty and different.

"Fusion" should be the operative word ..

This place has an OK decor and the sushi is overpriced for its quality and taste. They do have some interesting combinations - the "Sexy Mexican" and the "Diablo" are interesting combinations. However, for the price I would have expected better. Kamehachi a few blocks over is a better place to get better quality sushi at about the same price.

I give this place less than 6 months

This place is trying too hard and falls very short. Enough with the same decor in every Japanese restaurant! Went here before seeing a movie and that was a huge mistake. Fish is not fresh--the yellowtail was fishy and the cuts were tiny! Edamame were cold and soggy, sunamono was unlike any other i have ever had, and not in a good way-basically it was green salad with ginger dressing and a tiny piece of crab. rolls were boring, heavy on the rice, short on fish and veggies. Finally my husband's entree was bland and so small. We left there hungry and our bill was about $100 for two people. THis place wont last.
