    Bad Chinese

I love good Chinese and this is not it. I threw everything in the trash (Fried Rice, Egg Roll, Crab Rangoon & General's Chicken). Someone told me to try this place because it was close to my new apartment and cheap. Well, I'll never order from here again. I'm accustomed to Tasty House, near Roosevelt & Harlem (excellent Crab Rangoon). Next time I'll give Wok n Roll a try.

Quality & Quantity at a great low price!

I love Nicky's. Nicky's will always be my safe spot. As a busy college student who has a lot of late nights, Nicky's has a great selection of food and they always deliver in a timely manner. Their food is great, and it doesn't have that greasy, sticky texture that makes your stomach turn. Their vegetables are consistently fresh and steamed just right. Their rice is fresh and plump with just the right amount of moisture. ...Basically the place is just delicious. And it's the perfect souution on those nights where you don't want to cook, and you don't feel like driving. They're delivery is quick. Plus they're hours give them an extra high rating for convenience. I've called there sometimes at 12:15 (they close at midnight) and they still let me order for deliveries. That's great customer service. I definitely recommend trying Nicky's - you'll love it!

Mediocre Chinese Food in Hyde Park

I've gotten delivery from this place twice. Both times I got an upset stomach after. The food is coated in a thick layer of grease. Its really quite unpleasant, plus the restaurant interior is pretty dingy. I would recommend against it. If you're looking for Chinese delivery in Hyde Park, Wok n Roll is the way to go. Its clean and you get a better deal.

    Avoid at all costs

Nicky's Chinese food is the least appetizing in the neighborhood. I like good Chinese food, and I even like bad, greasy, delivery style Chinese food. But I can't stand Nicky's. Their flavors aren't even remotely Chinese oriented, when they're there at all. Their food tastes more like grease and cleaning products than actual food. I've had Nickey's perhaps half a dozen times in 3 years in Hyde Park, and I honestly can't say that I recommend them. Their delivery service is relatively fast, and they're open relatively long hours, however. Still, with Lung Wah and Wok & Roll within 2 blocks on 53rd Street, and with De Rice serving the same delivery area, I highly recommend taking your business to one of these better (and at times cheaper!) restaurants.

    Best in Hyde Park

Nicky's is the best in Hyde Park for Chinese, in my opinion. Their menus is large and has something for everyone, the food has real flavor, I don't notice use of MSG, it is quite cheap, ready quickly, and the staff is friendly. They also offer deliver in the area, although that takes longer. The only drawback is their inside only seats about 10 people, and their spicy dishes aren't that spicey, but I am sure if you asked them they could fix that for you. Finally, they are open late, till midnight at least, so they are perfect for a stop off after a night of homework, or a night at the pub. For the price and selection of items, you can't really go wrong. Excellent lunch specials too.

    It's ok . . .

I love Chinese food and when I moved from the suburbs needed to find a place that would deliver. A friend told me that this was the place to go to for Chinese in Hyde Park but the food isn't that great. The food is pretty inexpensive but I still expected better.
