Morgan Street Cafe

I enjoy this restaurant - just a short walk from east campus of UIC. The veggie sandwich is very flavorful. Good beverage selection including Izzes and sparkling water. I haven't tried many desserts, but all look tempting. Nice for an afternoon coffee break too.

If you're looking for an alternative to Starbuck's burnt coffee, and you live in the west loop, look no further than Morgan Street Cafe. Seriously, they have great food, great drinks of all kinds, and a wide variety of pastries, smoothies and frozen deserts. On top of that, it's locally owned by two brothers (as far as I know), and they make the service brilliant. They're always happy and ready to chat. Again if you live anywhere near Adams and Morgan in the west loop. There is no good reason to get your coffee, pastries, etc., anywhere else.

I just had lunch here for the first time. I mentioned it was my first time and they gave me great suggestions. I had the chicken chipotle sandwich and it was better that expected. The chicken was well seasoned and came on roll that I would expect to see an Italian sausage on. So it's not your typical chicken breast it was shredded meat and grated cheese. More like a taco in sandwich form. I saw the deserts but decided against them today. But I will be back to try one of Carol's huge cookies that they had displayed at the counter. Service was friendly as I left as well, when they asked how I liked it. It was very good indeed.
