We decided to explore Chinatown and came across Moon Palace. It was fairly crowded which was a good sign for us. Food was out rather quickly, it was very good, and our waiter was prompt and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant to people looking for great Chinese food in the heart of Chinatown.

Chinatown Chamber of Commerce was nice enough to provide a 15% off coupon on their website for us. Now for the review: Having made visits to the Far East, I am well aware of what authentic is. I really enjoyed this Shanghai sytle restaurant in Chicago's Chinatown. I am usually very disappointed with the fair of Chinese establishments in Chicago but Moon Palace Restaurant took me by surprise. Not only did we have the best Mongolian Beef that I have ever had anywhere but we found the atmosphere charming and relaxed. The menu includes the traditional without too much flair, but everything was prepared perfectly and delicious. Lily was our waitress and she was knowledgeable and a great help. We began with potstickers which were amazing. Usually too crispy but these were lightly fried after traditional boiling and filled with plenty of pork. We had the sizzling rice soup which would fill four people, though it was just me and my lovely wife dining. Again the Mongolia Beef was simply wonderful. The rice was not too sticky and nice and hot. The shrimp and veggie dish I ordered was great too. The place was clean, staff very friendly and I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting an affordable sitdown dinner. Less than forty with drinks. Great dining experience and finally delicious Chinese food in Chicago.
