I've never understood why this place is rated so highly. The fish on my last visit was fresh and presented prettily enough but it was hardly the innovative, delicious fare you can get at Kaze or any number of friendlier, cheaper places. The service and the decor are both tired and strung out. I've been forced to wait at the bar for 45 min or more on at least three occasions despite having reservations and the servers act as though they are working at some snooty new joint in Manhattan but with the stale decor and 2002-style club beats, the place feels like it really belongs in Denver.

This is the best sushi in the city...hands down. Excellent sashimi and nigiri and the best rolls--including the best shrimp tempura roll you will ever have. It is $$$, but worth every penny...treat yourself to the real deal. I have eaten at Nobu and Masa in NY...this is way better and at half the price believe it or not--this is quite a complement since we do live in the midwest.

This my fav place to go for Sushi in this city and frankly any city. I have eaten at NoBo several times in NY and yes it is fantastic and amazing, but I would rather eat at Mirai over NoBo any day of the week. The Tuna Tuna Salmon is so good and the Kani Nigri is a must have. The staff there is so friendly and helpful and I have never been given bad advice when it comes to ordering sake or sushi. Am 8 months pregnant so sushi for a while is off limits for me, but out of all the cravings I have had Mirai has been the worst one as I can't eat it. Looking forward to dining there as soon as I can.
