I dropped by mid afternoon & ordered the 2 hot dog meal. There were only 2 employees there and one of them was on break at the time, yet it only took about 5 minutes to get my food (maybe less) The hot dogs were hot/delicious/freshly made & so were the fries. I'm surprised there weren't more customers, considering how good the food is! I'll definitely go back next time I'm in the area (=

We lived a block from Mello’s and never thought about going in until one of our neighbor recommended it. As our neighbors we became fans of Mello’s, the food quality is always, consistently GREAT and we never had any bad –or even average- experience with them: service is great, we usually have the grill breast chicken plate and I have even asked them for the secret recipe since is delicious! I also recommend the hamburger and fries, of course…with their yummy chocolate shake. We moved about half mile west now and we are really happy that they even deliver to us. I simple can eat their food every day.

Best gyro I have ever had. The fries are cooked fresh to order, so they are top quality also. Highly recommended. The baklava is also fantastic!

Very close friends of my family own 4 Greek restaurants in and around Ann Arbor, MI, and not a single gyro compares to this place. My friends and I came to Chicago for a concert, and wanted to try the pizza place across the street. The hour wait turned us off, but we were starving so we went to the closest place: Mello's. The exterior almost deterred us, but hunger led us inside. The food was nothing short of orgasmic. The guys working were friendly and very speedy we didn't have to wait 5 minutes. Overall, an spectacular experience. I'm planning a trip to Chicago in 2 weeks, 25% to go shopping, 75% for Mello's.

I LOVE Gyros. I have eaten them all over the world, including Greece. I have been to Mellos in the morning, afternoon, evening, and very late at night, and ALWAYS get the same service and quality. Mellos has kinda ruined me for Gyros anywhere else, but i will still try to find one better. Oh year, the fries rock too! Two thunbs way up for all of the food here.

I hesitated to go into this resturant...judging from the outside it didn't look appealing. One day I decided to venture inside and have been hooked on the food at Mellos. The food is always fresh and hot. The service is exceptional. Mello's has some of the best Gyro's in Chicago. Check out Mello's and I gurantee you will become a regular.

Mello's is a GREAT PLACE for GREAT VALUE. Costa (the owner) runs a great organized place. The service is great - and the food always is fresh! HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! The milk shakes are the best in Chicago! Vanilla - you can't beat it!
