The best bruch ever
Meli is our new favorite brunch spot. We stumbled upon it in our neighborhood one weekend and we now eat there every single weekend (the week after we found it we actually ate there three times in one weekend - it's that good). It's not cheap but not overpriced for the amount and the quality of the food they serve. Everyone we have taken there has said it's the best breakfast they've ever had. It's perfectly fresh and delicious every time. They have daily specials and there is always something new and tasty to try. It's a truly incredible place. The only frustration is that the line does get long on the weekends during peak hours. I recommend going after 1:30 if you can wait that long - you'll be able to sit right away. They stop serving at 3 pm and are open until 4 pm. Seriously, the place is so good that it's contributing to my fiance and I wanting to stay in our current neighborhood when we move!

Great food for breakfast and lunch
We live in the West Loop and found this restaurant about a year ago. We walk there to eat breakfast at least every 2-3 weeks. I have to say, that I am a very picky person and I just love it there! The menu is huge and the food is always great! Not only that, but the service is top notch as well. They have home made jams that they serve for breakfast and are incredible! They also have a juice bar with every kind of fresh squeezed juice you could think of. I have never even tasted fresh sqeezed apple juice before I went there and it was fabulous! One more thing that stands out besides all of the yummy food is the coffee. Everytime we go there my husband raves about how great it tastes. I am not one to get on the web and post reviews but this restaurant is worth it. There are usually lines out the door on the weekend mornings, but it never takes more than 20-30 minutes to sit down. Try to get there early.

Innovative ideas
Really enjoy all the interesting concoctions on the special sheet available tuesday through sunday. My new favorite thing is to stop in the morning and have one of the chef's fresh baked muffing. Today I had a low fat double chocolate one. In one word WOW!!!

The freshest & tastiest breakfst in town
Meli opened in 8/2006, I believe, and it didn't take long for word of mouth to make this quite a successful little place. From the minute you walk in, you are put in a good mood. The light yellow and white colors with the wood floors and tables transport you to Europe. My husband and I go there as often as we can. It's not cheap, like most breakfast places, but the quality of the food and juices, as well as the portions, more than make up for that. The eggs are organic, the fruits, veggies, cheeses and marmelades are so fresh! I recommend the Cloud 9 crepe if you like mascarpone cheese and strawberries. It's heavenly. I also am a big fan of their denver and portabello and swiss omelets. The pecan and banana waffles and banana bread french toast are to die for. Little touches here and there remind you of the place's Greek roots, but it's more about giving you European breakfasts, with a twist...something you haven't experienced before! Sunday brunch is their busiest time, so be prepared to wait. It's still worth it, though! These guys are going to end up needing a bigger place soon! Service suffers a little on Sundays, but I'm sure they are working out the kinks. I haven't had lunch, but I hear it's good also.

"Best Breakfast in Chicago"
Yesterday, I found out about Meli Cafe & Juice Bar from an article in the Chicago Tribune. Upon their recommendation I dined at Meli today with my co-workers. From the moment I arrived I was overwhelmed by the decor, and the aroma coming from the kitchen. We proceeded to have some fresh squeezed orange juice, and for the first time I tried fresh pressed apple juice which was amazing. The best part of our morning was when our food arrived. Let me tell you this, the portions are enormous, the marmalades are to die for, and the Ragin Cajun omelet is out of this world. I also inquired about hash browns, and I was told that Meli serves what they call baby reds. "Little bundles of savory goodness," is what they should be called, because they were out of this world. I also had a bite of my friends French toast and it was fantastic. The mastermind behind all these has done a wonderful job....from the color on the plate, to the taste, to the aroma.... I wish I could come everyday to see what specials, this crafty chef has up his sleeve...... Meli is by far the best breakfast, in Chicago....

Best kept secret in Greektown
I recently had breakfast at Meli cafe, and it was amazing... I had the cinnamon roll french toast and signature omelet. Let me tell you, it was the best meal of my life.... I could not get enough of the sinful combination of my french toast and savory goodness of my omelet. My baby reds cooked to perfection, and my raspberry marmalade, THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!. I asked about who makes these masterful creations, and they informed me it was a young professionally trained and talented chef named Frank..... I have to take my hat off to this young man because he has one a customer for life......
