great food but the service is lacking
I almost love this bar. If the service would improve what a place it would be. I have been there on a weekday, a weekend, lunch, brunch and dinner. I've tried small groups large groups. Eating inside, the bar and outside. The food is excellent, the beer is cold, the prices are reasonable, the people and atmosphere is great, but each and every time I sit and wait for my first drink and never have the server come back to check on us til we are done with our meal. Good luck if something on your order is wrong. Good luck getting a second drink. I've even eaten at the bar and had problems getting another drink. I kept telling myself it's just a new server, a new bartender, they are busy. No, the service is just atrocious.

I will miss this place!!
I live down the street from this place and it remains my favorite anywhere in the neighborhood. The food is GREAT, the value could not be better and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. I eat here all the time and highly recommend the salmon (any). The service is definitely not the quickest, but they are friendly and enjoy talking to their customers (which is probably why they are not so fast). If you mentally prepare yourself to have a longer than usual sit down meal, you can't beat McNamara's. I am moving next month and will really miss having this place nearby.

Great Food Poor Service
The Food is very good, but all three times I have eaten here, the service was poor! The last time we ate there was the last time we will eat there because our evening was ruined by the waitstaff.

Love to go at least once or twice a week
Hard to find a better place. Good food, great atmosphere and good prices. Service is good and friendly. During good weather you can sit outside, there is a non-smoking and a smoking section outdoors on different sides of the building.

shepards pie rocks your socks
friendily atmosphere; good pints of guinness;shepards pie rocks your socks off its the best i've tasted except my mums! pork chops plain or stuffed are excellent! the turky dinner just like thanks giving. bar staff always have something witty to say. Best irish food. excellent!
