    pretty much flawlessly awesome

this is the kind of restaurant i want to eat at every night - the food's great, the people are awesome, the byo is sweet, and the vibe is chill. it's just a smidge too pricey for me to go every day, but if i had my way i'd be there like 3-4 times a week.

    Great Brunch

A big group of us went here for brunch and brought lots of champagne bottles. They didn't mind us staying for a couple of hours drinking our BYOB mimosas. The server was super attentive. The food was "fancy" brunch food but was really tasty. I almost didn't want to write this review so this place would stay a hidden gem.

    It was good

I went to mado, tried a bunch of the smaller plates. The meats platter was tasty, but there was not enough bread but the grain mustard was good, though I did not think the pickled beets went well with it at all. Skip the polenta unless it has gorgonzola in it. The tuna antipasto was probably the best, and the hanger steak was nice. The pear tart was ok, but I did not like the creme fraiche with it. Overall, I think the presentations were nice, the servers were knowledgable, and the ingredients were decent. I'm glad they try to shop locally, but in my honest opinion, I can go to the farmer's market myself and do a lot more for less money.

    Good but not great!

After reading wonderful reviews maybe my expectations were too high. The food was good but not great. I had the octopus which was dry annd the swiss chard which was burnt. The trout was good but nothing great. My husband had the pork and said the quality was good but there was no flavor.

    The Best in Chicago

This place is without a doubt the best restaurant in the Chicago area, bar none. Check it out yourself. You will see. Mark my words.....guaranteed the best.

    fresh, seasonal, delicious!

Everything is market and farm fresh, so flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The wood grilled whole trout is amazing, as is the shortbread and dates with ricotta, coffee, and walnuts.
