Yum
That's all I can say - YUM! I only whish MacArthur's was closer to my home. We live in South Holland, IL which is an hour away but every mile and every minute is worth it! I gave the atmosphere fewer points cuz it's definitely NOT a white-tablecloth establishment. The service is sort of hurried but they sorta have to be due to the crowds!

Maybe I Should Try Them Again
I'd heard great things abou this restaurant so I was excited to get a chance to try it when in Chicago for the Gospel Fest recently. - Upon entering the establishment there was no direction on where to go.....be seated or find a line - There was a long wait but the menus weren't posted so they could be easily read. (It was electronic & moved rather rapidly). - The servers addressed me as though I should have known what they offered and what portion of my meal they needed to know about....VERY unfriendly, indifferent & unhelpful. - They moved my plate down their "assembly" line in a hurry and when it reached the end of the line, some of what I'd asked for wasn't there. - The food was barely warm. I'm gonna try them again when we go to Chicago for the "Taste of Chicago".....maybe I caught them on a bad day.

Canned Soul food
I don't understand why so many rave about Macauthurs. I think it's because its a well known name. The food is not good and most of taste as though it is from a can. Also, the customer service is terrible. None of the employees seem happy to have a job. After visting ATL, I will never eat at Macauthur's again.

the best sould food EVER
I have had soul food before but never like this! i was so stuffed with the worlds greatest food around but i just had to keep on eating! even tho i was i done and the line was out the door i got back in line to take some home!

Best Soul Food Restaurant in Chicago!
I'm not from Chicago, so its not often that I can get a good homecooked meal. I love Mac Arthur's because they have the best soul food for cheap! Just make sure you know what you want before you get to the front of the line. Also, on Sundays it is extremely crowded but it's definitely worth the wait.

Macarthur's
The food is excellent liked a home cooked southern meal. The way you are servered seems to bring the guest closer together like a family. There is a long wait on the food but it is worth it. If you want the whole idea of a homecooked meal this is the place to go.
