delicious... really.
This place is truly wonderful. I grew up in California and am very used to excellent Mexican food, and this place does not disappoint. So delicious, and on the lighter side. I highly recommend this place!

Los Nopales is awesome.
It's a perfect place in terms of atmosphere and staff- they're absolutely wonderful. They're excited about the food and thier restaurant. It's a great feeling to see them doing well, because they appreciate it and appreciate the people that come in. It's a favorite for us, and that's saying a lot given the large number of good restaurants in the area.

Authentic, Cheap, Delicious
Forget your local taqueria slinging up greasy burritos, tacos, and nacho dinners. Los Nopales goes above and beyond what you normally find on every other corner of Chicago. They're cuisine is fresh, delicious, and a fantastic value. Sure, you can get burritos and tacos...but they are prepared beautifuly, often coming with several colorful sauces, whipped up in the kitchen that day. Otherwise, try some of the traditional dishes like the Skirt Steak special, pork tamales, or Pan fried tilapia in Garlic sauce. The staff is outlandishly friendly and genuine and the restaurant is charming and clean. A total gem.

Great food great atmosphere
Great Restaurant. Small enough to be a quiet little get away but always full and bustling with customers. Awesome Bistec and stuffed poblano peppers!

Fantastic Mexican food
Some of the best guacamole in the city, hands down. Wonderful Mexican food in a part of town that is otherwise lacking in good Mex options. Family owned and operated, it's very friendly and informal - and a TERRIFIC value! I love the quesadilla, and my friend can't stop ordering the steak burrito, unless it's to get the fish tacos. It's the guac that really hooks me - don't miss it.

Spectacular
I love this place! As the reviewer before said it's a great hidden gem on Western. It's my favorite Mexican place in the city for sure and the BYOB policy is a plus. There is a liquor store right down the street so pick up some cerveza at Leland's and head on over.

Amazing hidden gem!
I've eaten here perhaps 50 times, and it's always fresh, clean and delicious. The tilapia tacos are my usual, but whenever I stray, I'm happy I did! Amazing tortilla soup, flan, quesidillas... and the service is great. I love showing this restaurant to new people.
