On 15 Nov 11 my wife and I had dinner at the Hyde Park location. I had a delicious Blue Moon burger and my wife ordered Calamari and 5 Cheese Lasanga which she loves and orders all the time. Unfortunately, this time she was very disappointed in the Lasanga. She felt that it had an unusally high content of Ricotta cheese which made it excessively dry. She complaiined to the waitress who said she'd inform the manager, but on this night there were a lot of customers and not enough staff and she said he was working takeouts so he couldn't respond to our complaint. Also, we arrived at we arrived at 5:20 and our order was not taken for 15 to 20 minutes with an additional 1/2 hr for the food to arrive. So from start to finish our evening, which in the past may have taken an hour, ended at 7:10. Almost 2 hours! This was literally a nightmare! We like the food most of the time and we may possibly return, but only after taking a moment to size up the customer to wait staff ratio. My wife wanted me to attach a photo of her dish with the excess Ricotta that she removed and left on the plate, but I couldn't do it. Just trust that there was a lot. I would have rated the food a 3.5 were it not for the Lasanga.

I'm not sure why there is nothing but bad reviews.. I've had a great experience everytime. Pizza is amazing, garlic bread too.. Had slow service once or twice I guess but didn't really bother me since I'm generally not in a rush when I go to a sit down restaurant.. People complain to much, the guys is great and the staff is always friendly..

Food is OK IF your order is done correctly. Service is awful. Do Not go to sit down unless you have hours to waste on waitstaff who appear to be poorly trained. We rarely go, and only under protest. Fortunately, a few of our family have waited tables before so we can coach them through the order taking and serving process. Delivery is no better. Take out is tolerable. Have been to other Leona's and have found service to range from decent to deplorable.

I have grown to like Leona's. I have only gone there for pick up, so I haven't had much to complain about in terms of service. I have had most of the things on their menu, and the most distinguishable thing about this place is that they are remarkably consistent: huge portions and good food (not great). One item off their menu easily makes two meals for me. Also, I really like how for an extra buck you can have lasagna or fried calamari as your side.

I love the food, however the service is really poor. I would have to agree that they are incredibly slow, not only with order taking but also delivery. The person taking my order hung up before I had finished talking like I was taking up all of her time, after she'd had me on hold for 5 minutes.

Every single time we go to this Leona's I have a bad experienced. I have been left at a table for 20 minutes waiting for my orderto be taken. I have had items left out of my food (HELLO...chicken pizziola pizza has to have pepperoni or its just chicken pizza). The last time was it for me. It's noisy and I honestly don't think that management cares how horrible the servers are, because nothing ever changes! I have been to the Rodgers Park location and had a totally different experience. My advice: save yourself some aggrevation, go Hyde Park produce and eat at home!

Ordered in from Leona's and ugh, it was totally icky. The ribs have this gross tomatoey barbecue sauce on it that tastes like warmed-over pasta sauce with some spices added, steak skewers were dried out and mangy, and the salad was about 1/2 the size of the ones you get in the restaurant, for the same price. They forgot to include a number of delivery items, and when we called to point it out they didn't offer to do anything to fix it - no credit, no new delivery. Um, what?
