Lawry's The Prime Rib
Posted by Mary Rahman on 12/22/2013
Thus was the best experience I've ever had. From the valet, to the hosts, to the waitress, to the chef that walked around to ask was everything enjoyable, I loved every moment of my stay. And the Food was amazing. I had the lawrys prime rib, though it was a little to Tate for my taste, it was still succulent. I love this place and I made sure I recommended it to my friends on Facebook! :-)

I plan my trips to the windy city around reservations @ Lawry's! It is absolutely my favorite place to eat. I love the professionalism of the wait staff, I love the charm of the place, I love the food and at Christmas time there were carollers dressed up in costumes from the Charles Dickens eras singing carols quietly all around. Every time my husband asks me where I want to go for our anniversary or for my birthday, I tell him Lawry's. It is only a four hour drive!! Amazing prime rib and outstanding cream corn. But please, don't leave without the chocolate bag!! Oh, it is to die for!!

I guarantee you there is no better prime rib in the country- many places overseason theirs or worse reheat it -yuk. This is absolutely the best. The yorkshire pudding melts in your mouth and the salad is always crisp. The sourdough bread used to be better, but sometimes progress hurts. Then waitstaff are all pros-the best. You can't go wrong here!

Wait, with reservations on a Saturday night..about 30 minutes. Crowded, noisy, the worst service we've experienced yet. Food is delicious..they've been at this for a number of years, so why not...our 'spinning salad' sat in front of our table for at least 15 minutes until our waitress began her spiel with it. Never got offered coffee until after we'd had our dessert. Just a slow time...lots of history in the place..it's big, cavernous and loud, but worth a visit if you're coming to town I suppose....haven't been there for at least 20 years...will wait another 20 to return.
