The best Chinese I have had
I actually feel a bit guilty about not having written a review of Lao Shanghai until now. I've been ordering from Lao Shanghai for three years and have never had a bite that was not absolutely delicious, tasty, well cooked and imaginative.Their portions have always been more than generous, large enough that I often make three meals out of one order. I'm also an experienced, frequent, well traveled, discerning and demanding eater so much so, that I considered others and always end up calling Lao Shanghai. Their delivery is excellent (I live in the Loop, across from Millenium Park northern end). Usually 35-40 min, never more than one hour. Their owner personally answers the telephone, is more than pleasant- friendly, makes suggestions and prepares the food. And, he recognizes the voice and remembers the last orders. I can't say more about how satisfied I am. Simply enjoy. Places like Lao Shanghai are the 'little hidden treasures' of Chicago.
