food was some of the best French dishes I have had in Chicago and I eat out frequently. Our server was outstanding. The management was also v ery attentive. I look forward to my next visit.

My date and I had a great time. Our waiter was amazing recommending the perfect wine to go with our meal out of a wine list that is way more extensive then you would expect on the south side. The food was excellent. I had an amazing salad and the salmon was cooked to perfection, not dried out and well seasoned. My date had the scallops and while completely silent while eating, she wouldn't stop talking about them. They should be in a better location but the atmosphere despite that lends itself to an intimate meal. Our waiter was one of the best I've come across in Chicago, respectful, knowledgeable and attentive. Overall, I'd say its a great place for a date in Hyde Park.

We had a pleasant dinner with good service from our waiter, reasonably well prepared food, although the tuna steak was cooked way too dry. Unfortunately, the maitre d' who greeted us was not the nicest - snotty and uncooperative. Refused to re-seat our party, even though the restaurant was only half-full, if that. The decor and ambience were very pleasant. The location is awful, though. May be Hyde Park, but pretty cruddy part of the neighborhood.

La Petite Folie has excellent French food, good service, and a nice atmosphere. The prices are high, but the food is worth it once in a while. Highly recommended. N.B.--Make sure to get precise directions if you aren't familiar with the neighborhood; it can be tough to find.

This is a place UofC staff take perspective employees to impress them. The food is good but not great. The people serving can be surprisingly snotty. Its SO expensive for a tiny plate of food at this place.
