Best Puerto Rican food anywhere
The food keeps getting better. The best time to go is on a Sat. as they are very busy and there are more choices. Especially about 11a.m. when all the food is coming out. Love this place. The jibarito is probably the best in Chicago.

Ending Era!
I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a child but it seems that lately (maybe the economy) this place has taken a turn for the worst... The food may still be affordable but the quality of the food has changed and let's not forget about the service. They lost the coolest, most craziest waitress I have ever met... Her name was Ines. With so much restaurant competition out there, this place is just not meeting up to Par at least not any more...

Good food , need better service.
I really like their food, everything from the alcapurrias to the bistec. They could use some improvement on their service. I would like to come in to the restaurant (at least once) and get my favorite sandwich (the jibarrito) done, without having to chase the staff around to get it done! Seems like they don't like to take the time to make these sandwiches.

Feels like being in Old San Juan
Our last vacation was spent in OSJ and when we returned, I jumped on the internet to find an authentic PR restaurant. We visited La Palma on 6/3/06 and became instant loyal customers!! The food was out of this world!! I had lechon with rice/beans and my husband had the Jibarito. The lechon was juicy/tasty and the Jibarito melted in your mouth. The people behind the counters were super friendly and made you feel like you had been personally invited to their party. They came right over to our table to ask if we needed anything else and checked in constantly. We had an appetizer, softdrinks and dessert - the whopping bill came to $18.00!! Where else in Chicago can you get incredible food and service for that price. We'll be back to La Palma on 6/10/06 and we're bringing friends this time. Congratulations to this restaurant and their employees for providing a great experience!!
